Victoria Cusumano, B.Sc., PsyD Candidate

Victoria is a fifth year pre-doctoral intern pursuing adult and child/adolescent clinical psychology at D’Youville University in Buffalo, New York. She holds a Bachelor’s of Education from Queens University and received her Bachelor’s of Science with a major in Psychology from the University of Toronto. In previous years, she has held research assistantships at the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, as well as the Toronto Early Cognition Lab.


Victoria has experience working with a wide range of ages and concerns, including individuals between 3 and 65 years old presenting with anxiety, mood difficulties, OCD, ADHD, relationship difficulties/ family conflict, emotion dysregulation, trauma, adjustment disorders, learning disorders, and personality disorders. She has received training at the Centre for Interpersonal Relationships and Hillcrest Psychology and Counselling Services for psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic, ASD and ADHD-focused assessments. She has been trained and practices therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and ACT, often utilizing a client-centred, humanistic, and integrative approach that allows for those she works with to feel they are the primary drivers of their personal exploration and growth. She is currently being trained in evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including CBT for psychosis and CBT for Occupational Stress Injury.


Victoria prioritizes warmth, genuine empathy, and an unconditional positive regard for her clients. She highly appreciates the importance of making a connection with those she works with, ensuring they feel supported through transparent, genuine, and individualized collaboration to meet their therapeutic goals. She is excited to be completing her pre-doctoral residency at the Canadian Centre for CBT.
