Rida Riaz RSW, MSW, BSc

Rida Riaz is a Registered Social Worker with a strong foundation in evidence-based psychotherapy. She works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and trauma, neurodivergence, disability, and life transitions. She also supports clients experiencing interpersonal challenges, grief, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm, using an intersectional lens that honours the complexity of each person’s lived experience. Rida believes that every individual brings inherent strengths and the capacity for growth. She collaborates with clients to foster emotional regulation, deepen self-compassion, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), within a trauma-informed, strengths-based framework. Grounded in common factors theory, she prioritizes building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood and empowered.
Rida completed her Master of Social Work at Carleton University and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction from the University of Toronto. She is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the OCSWSSW and is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice to provide ethical, research-informed care.
