Canan Ok, OTR/L

Canan Ok is an experienced occupational therapist with over 15 years of practice in the mental health field. Throughout a diverse career in community and outpatient mental health settings, Canan has supported individuals living with persistent and severe mental health conditions, including psychosis, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, and addiction and substance use disorders.
In addition to providing occupational therapy services, Canan is qualified to perform psychotherapy within the scope of occupational therapy practice. Canan has received extensive training and clinical supervision in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices. These modalities are thoughtfully integrated through a holistic occupational therapy lens, recognizing how psychological suffering impacts not only thoughts and emotions, but also daily routines, identity, roles, and connection to others.
Grounded in the belief that meaningful change occurs within a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, Canan fosters a space characterized by empathy, curiosity, and respect. The therapeutic process is collaborative, creating room for healing, personal meaning, and growth. With warmth, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and deep respect for each individual’s lived experience, Canan meets clients where they are in their journey.
Canan supports individuals navigating psychosis, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, and relationship concerns.
